Gym Dogs Win SEC Title
Junior Kelsey Ericksen posts all-around victory

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.----- Top-ranked Georgia notched its third consecutive Southeastern Conference Championship and 15th overall with a score of 197.275 in front of 7,607 on Saturday night at the BJCC Arena.

Fifth-ranked Alabama finished in second place 196.975, followed by No. 3 Florida (196.275), No. 8 LSU (195.9), No. 14 Auburn (194.975), No. 19 Arkansas (195.9) and No. 18 Kentucky (191.15).

Junior Kelsey Ericksen led Georgia the entire night, earning a victory in the individual all-around with a season-high 39.625.  Ericksen won the vault by tying her career high of 9.925.  She tied for first place on bars and floor with a 9.9 and 9.95, respectively.  Her 9.95 on the floor exercise tied a career high.

Gym Dog freshman Courtney Kupets tied Ericksen for the win on the bars at 9.9.

A nation’s best 49.6 on the floor exercise catapulted Georgia to the win in its third rotation.  On that event five Gym Dogs scored a 9.9 or better from the lineup.

Georgia is off next week and will host the NCAA Southeast Regional competition on April 8 at 6 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum.
