MPSF Weekly Update #9
MPSF WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP- The MPSF Women’s
Gymnastics Championship was held March 24 at the United States Air Force Academy in
Colorado Springs. It was close with the top three teams battling it out and ending up with only a
.700 gap between the final scores. Seattle Pacific won the title with a score of 191.650 followed
by UC-Davis with a 191.025, Alaska Anchorage with a 190.950 and Air Force with a 184.200.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, 2-16:
AIR FORCE hosted the Championship placing fourth with 184.200.
Lauren Robison,Christine Powers, Katie Donnell
and Sashonna Iwaniec led the Falcons to their best score184.200 of the season.
SEATTLE PACIFIC, 5-14:
SEATTLE PACIFIC took home the MPSF Crown with a winning score of 191.650.
JaynieReynolds
, and Kristin Bryant tied for second in the vault 9.750 and Reynolds followed upwith a win on the bars and a second in the all-around. Sarah Sullivan notched a second place
on the beam with a 9.700 followed by teammate Ashley Domres with a 9.650 tie for third.
Seattle Pacific wraps up their season at the USAG Collegiate National Championships at
Cornell.
UC DAVIS, 2-11:
UC DAVIS finished second in the Championship with a score of 191.025 highlighted by
JuliaRichard’s
individual title in the balance beam and Brandi Forte’s second place finish in theuneven parallel bars. Head Coach Ray Goldbar was selected as MPSF Coach of the Year.
The Aggies finish their season at the USAG Collegiate National Championships.
ALASKA ANCHORAGE, 5-9:.
ALASKA ANCHORAGE finished the Championship in third place by less than a tenth of a point
with a score of 190.950. Jessica Portlock won the vault, floor and all-around and was selected
at MPSF Gymnast of the Year. The NCAA announced that Jessica Portlock and
LaurenAgostino
have qualified as individual all-around competitors for the NCAA Division I WestRegional Championships, to be held on the campus of Stanford University, April 8.The Seawolf
pair earned their spots by virtue of finishing among the top five all-arounders in the region who
were not on qualifying teams. Portlock, a sophomore from Anchorage, was the No. 1 qualifier
with a 38.730 regional qualifying score, while Agostino, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va.,
was No. 3 at 38.515.
